Sedation Dentistry

Sedation Dentistry

Our registered Anesthesiologist will go through a detailed medical check – during the treatment they will monitor the patient’s blood pressure, pulse, oxygen saturation and respiratory rates continuously to ensure that the patient is completely comfortable and reacting normally throughout the procedure.

Sedation dentistry can benefit a wide range of patients, including people with:

  • High dental anxiety and fear
  • A severe gag reflex
  • Time constraints – those who need to get more dentistry done in fewer visits
  • Chronic or acute jaw soreness
  • Physical limitations such as back and neck problems
  • Difficulty getting numb
  • A reluctance to previously complete treatment plans
  • Extensive treatment needs
  • A desire to have dentistry done comfortably while they are fully relaxed

Sedation dentistry in Cancun can be performed during your elected treatments but not before a full medical background check is performed.

Do not let fear control your chances of Smiling, Together we can conquer your phobias!

Conscious Sedation Dentistry in Cancun:

Also known as moderate conscious sedation, IV sedation is the most effective sedation method available and allows those with extreme fear to reach a deep level of relaxation. The dentist administers the sedative/anesthetic combination directly into the bloodstream, resulting in a precise level of sedation quickly. Patients enjoy a profound amnesia effect, resulting in little to no memory of the dental procedure.

Your breathing will slow and your blood pressure may drop a little. Our Specialist Anesthesiologist will monitor you during the procedure to make sure you are OK. This provider will stay with you at all times during the procedure.

You should not need help with your breathing. But you may receive extra oxygen through a mask or IV fluids through a catheter (tube) into a vein.

You may fall asleep, but you will wake up easily to respond to people in the room. You may be able to respond to verbal cues. After conscious sedation, you may feel drowsy and not remember much about your procedure.

We Advise all our patients undergoing IV Sedation dentistry in Cancun to travel with a companion where possible.
